Julia Lipkins

Scholarly and Community Advisor

Julia Lipkins is the Oral History Project Archivist at the Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS). She processed the CBBG Oral History Collection and spearheaded the implementation of the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS) at BHS. Previously, she worked as a Processing Archivist at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and as the Archives Assistant at the estate of artist Ray Johnson. Prior to becoming an archivist, Julia worked for five years in radio and television production. She was a 2009-2010 Fulbright Fellow in Germany and holds an M.S.L.I.S. from Pratt Institute and a B.F.A. in film production from New York University. Julia is currently pursuing an M.A. in American Studies at The CUNY Graduate Center.
