Jasmine Mitchell

Narrator

Jasmine Mitchell was born to an African American mother and a white father in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents relocated to Brooklyn, New York when she was two years old. She attended Phillips Academy, a boarding school in Andover, Massachusetts. Mitchell earned a B.A. in American studies from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts and a Ph.D in American studies from the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities. She returned to New York to work as an assistant professor at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury.
