Mixed Race Britain

December 13, 2012

On Monday, December 10th, The Guardian newspaper in Britain put out a call to its readers asking them to respond with their thoughts "if you are the child of an interracial relationship or your partner is of a different ethnicity."

"Data from the 2011 [UK] census about to be published is expected to show that there are now more than one million people born to parents in interracial partnerships in the UK. A new poll, commissioned by the thinktank British Future, claims that only 15% of people would oppose their child being in a mixed race relationship. This figure has fallen sharply from 40% two decades ago."

Apparently multiracial people in the UK also get the question, "But where are you really from?"
