In this episode of America by the Numbers on C-SPAN they discuss demographic statistics regarding Black population in the US.

Featuring Nicholas A. Jones, Chief of Racial Statistics Branch of the US Census and Cynthia Gordy, Senior Washington Correspondant for The Root. They talk about who (in terms of ethnic background and national origin) identifies as Black. They also discuss the increase in people self-identifying as multiracial: the 2000 US Census was the first time people could self-identify as more than one race and in the 2010 US Census there was a 75% increase in people identifying as Black in combination with another race.
