New York City Council Member Albert Vann (D - District 36) has awarded Crossing Borders, Bridging Generations a $5,000 discretionary grant from the Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD). 

Receiving this support from Council Member Vann means a lot to us, especially because of his long career in education, government, and racial justice.

Council Member Vann grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn and his oral history interview is archived here at Brooklyn Historical Society. You can listen to a clip of this interview here where he talks about how playing basketball influenced his childhood.
