The Next America

Check out Pew Research Center's new interactive website The Next America, created to complement the book The Next America: Boomers, Millenials, and the Looming Generational Showdown (2014).
The site explores changes in the population of the U.S. over time. For example, by 2060:
"We'll have almost as many Americans over age 85 as under age 5."
And changes in racial demographics:
"In 1960, the population of the United States was 85% white; by 2060, it will be only 43% white."
Watch and interview with Mark Lopez, Director of Hispanic Research for Pew Research Center, talking about rising rates intermarriage between people of different racial/ethnic backgrounds:
"Intermarriage is playing a big role in changing some of our views of ethnicity."
And see Pew Research's exploration into changing perceptions of 'Mixed Race':
"More than a quarter of Hispanic and Asian newlyweds 'marry out,' as do one-in-six blacks and one-in-ten whites. Whites are still the largest race group, so even though they 'marry out' at lower rates, they still account for 70% of all interracial marriages."
And differences between large generational groups: Boomers (age 50 - 68), Gen X (age 34 - 49), and Millenials (age 18 - 33)...
